  i saw this coming since my mother-in-law's funeral .... the congregation's "love-bombing" over my wife had its impact.

  i watched her drawing closer and closer to her friends in the congregation.

  then she decided she would attend the memorial.

  Cognitive Dissonance

  the cognitive dissonance amongst jws has never been more obvious to me then what i just experience in the last 5 min.

  long story short i had a phone conversation w/my mom about some things and i mentioned to her to look up what has been going on with their beloved organization in australia.

  brother geoffrey jackson of the holy governing body was caught lying numerous times about several subjects including disassociations & shunning.

  I think it was great to have three different experts on cults interviewed.

  I watched for the part about "Armageddon/ Hell" and really, it sounded as though he was making an overall statement about things that control people, be it Armageddon or Hell or whatever it is that will kill you. ;-)

  Great that this reality is getting out there to give victims a chance to see that they are not alone.

  Fading Game of Thrones Style

  i started watching game of thrones online back in april and watched all 5 seasons by june.. i wonder how my life would be different if i had watched it from the beginning.. if i had seen it over a year ago, i would have left the organization the way the hound left the capitol.. during a battle when sandor clegane, aka the hound, had lost half of his men and saw that the king was a coward, when told that he needs to protect the city, protect the king, he replied - f--k the king's guard, f--k the city, f--k the king and left.. i wish i would have done that.

  f--k the elders, f--k the judicial committee, f--k the gb.. best if done during a comment or from the platform.

  Magnum I remember that"true life story".. Don't buy a Cadillac, drive a VW, just so others "won't be stumbled"... Who had TWO Cadillacs? During the depression? Rutherford!

  And I remember sisters wrapping their kids shoes with duct tape because they were so poor!

  A thought on child abuse reporting

  i find it interesting and shameful that in some cases of child abuse that have not been reported, the parents desire not to report, is the reason cited for not notifying the police.

  when at the same time the government doesn't allow the parents of the same children to put them in a car with out a seat belt and go unsanctioned.

  let me start off by saying i do not presume to have the answers, i am merely offering advice.. i will preface this posting with this, cutting a long story short:.

  my sister was raped by a popular jw lad wh's dad happen to be a rock star elder.

  in the attempt to fight him off his face was covered with scratches and it was reported to the police ( instead of rape he was sentenced on the lesser charges of sexual battery and assault) but he confessed to having violent, consentual sex.

  Exposing one's identity. When?

  i've been toying with the idea of just coming out and posting my name and location as an attempt to be available to locals that secretly browse the forum that have known me for up to 25 years.

  ( "reaching out", so to speak ).

  i'm not da'd or df'd, so this most certainly could end in a dramatic confrontation.

  Remember, you can't turn back time.

  Do not do anything you will regret. Will this affect your wife? Make it harder for her to leave? Make it harder for you to keep her? Will what those elders say really make a difference in a year or two?

  If you could have your choice, what would it be?

  *Keeping your wife? or *Having a standoff with the elders?

  (Picture yourself having this thing with elders, and you win.... then your wife leaves you... Will you be happier? Or, if you don't 'engage them', your wife sees the light, you both leave the Borg, and you both don't care about what the elders do? Picture this, feel the emotions both ways.....)
